This pot holder features beautiful sashiko stitching on one side, worked on vintage Japanese textile. The pattern combines traditional motifs such as hanabishi with kaki no hana (persimmon flower), komezashi, gasashi, hanajūji (flower cross), and soroban (abacus), creating a beautiful and elegant design. The reverse side is finished in a boro style, made from carefully arranged vintage fabric remnants, stitched together with expressive, random sashiko work. Each piece is carefully handmade by ITOTSUZURI, reflecting a thoughtful and enduring approach to making. A small loop allows for easy hanging. It can be used as a practical pot holder, or placed beneath a teapot or dish as part of a table setting. It also makes a quiet, decorative presence when hung in the kitchen.Other designs are also available.
