Les Arboises comes from a 2.47 acre plot on the hill of Brézé. The wines are de-stemmed, before being wild fermented for 2-4 weeks. The wine is then matured for 18 months in oak (80% new), before additional maturation in steel tanks and in bottle. Cherries, tobacco, vanilla, pepper with fine tannins! In the words of legendary wine exporter Becky Wasserman, Romain Guiberteau crafts beautiful, brilliant wines from some of the best land in Brézé, which have an almost "punk rock violence, yet of Bach-like logic and profoundness." Romain has controlled and operated his family's holdings in Brézé since he took over as a flailing law student. Under his watch, and in only a few years, Domaine Guiberteau has become one of the most sought after domaines in Saumur, with his wines already stringently allocated and found in the best restaurants in France. 12.5% ABV
