Join us for a beautiful hands-on silver stacking ring workshop at Form and Findings Studio in Dorset. In this session you'll learn the fundamentals of silversmithing including hammering, texturing, forming, piercing and soldering plus how to achieve different finishes and patinas. You will leave with 2-3 sterling silver rings made to your own designs. Timings: 10:00am–3:00pm (with 30 minute lunch break around 12.30) All materials and consumables included Maximum 5 participants — friendly and supportive, small-group setting For ages 16+ The studio is fully equipped, with each of the 5 individual workbenches having the tools necessary for each task and with additional larger working areas. Suitable for complete beginners, you will be given guidance all the way through from initial design to making and finishing. Your tutor Rachael is an established maker and illustrator with a PGCert in Creative Education and has taught in a University setting for over 25 years, specialising in 3D Art & Design including contemporary craft and jewellery. Where: Form and Findings Studio is Studio 4, in the Stables at Coda Music & Arts Trust. There is easy parking on site with disabled spaces and access if required. Refreshments: The onsite Bramble Hill Cafe is open from September Monday-Friday 9-4. The studio will provide refreshments during the day. Please bring your own lunch (there is a fridge at the studio). You are welcome to bring your own drinks, please use closed containers/bottles for health & safety. Frequently asked questions What should I bring and what should I wear? Please wear close toed shoes. Please wear clothes that you are happy to get dirty (aprons are provided) and that aren’t too loose or flammable. Please have something to tie your hair back if necessary.
