James Suckling 90/100 points About the producer Synonymous with South African wine, Simonsig is a quintessential wine estate in historic Stellenbosch. While the founders and producers the Malan family have a wide range of wines on their portfolio. Run by brothers Johan and Francois Malan, their late father Frans founded the estate back in 1964. As a reflection of the estate’s pedigree, Frans is credited with producing South Africa’s first sparkling Méthode Cap Classique in the style of Champagne, in 1971.
