Site Management Safety Training Scheme Course in Rainham The CITB SMSTS course is a five-day training programme for construction site managers, project managers, supervisors, business owners and those moving into site management roles. It is designed to help learners understand their legal, practical and managerial responsibilities for health and safety on construction sites. This recognised qualification covers key areas of construction site safety, including UK health and safety law, risk assessments, method statements, CDM Regulations, working at height, site hazards, occupational health, fire prevention, accident prevention and incident investigation. Course Location This course is delivered in a classroom in Rainham, Kent, ME8 8BE. Who Is This Course For? The SMSTS course is suitable for people who are responsible, or are about to become responsible, for planning, organising, managing, monitoring and controlling construction work. This includes site managers, project managers, supervisors, construction directors, business owners and client-side personnel. Course Duration The course is delivered over five days. It may be completed as a full five-day block, one day per week over five weeks, or through another suitable delivery pattern depending on course availability. Assessment and Certification Learners are assessed throughout the course through participation, group exercises and tutor-led activities. There is also a final multiple-choice examination. Successful candidates receive the CITB Site Managers Safety Training Certificate. Certificate Validity The SMSTS certificate is valid for five years. To keep the qualification current, learners must complete the SMSTS Refresher course before their certificate expires. Entry Requirements There are no formal entry requirements, although learners should already be working in, or preparing for, a site management role.
