Softlite Hybrid Hyper Softboard The Hyper is the ideal small wave, high-performance softboard. It is best described as short & wide with a touch of extra volume that ensures it paddles well and is easy to ride in average to weaker conditions. Template and Shape The Hyper softboard is designed to be short, wide, and flat, providing extra volume while maintaining a short rail line. This design ensures excellent paddling and easy riding in average to weaker conditions. The shorter, rounded template enhances maneuverability and allows for top-to-bottom surfing even in the smallest of waves. Its flatter rocker helps to gain and hold speed in weak sections while fitting nicely in the pocket if the waves get hollow. The Diamond Tail allows for more pivotal turns while maintaining smoothness and offering additional surface area for smaller waves. The updated dimensions feature a Hyper template thinned out by 1/4". Rail Technology The Hybrid Range features an updated version of our Parabolic Rolled Rail Technology, addressing the common problem of softboards. The hand-shaped rails are softer near the nose, tapering down to a sharp, harder-edged rail at the tail, providing extra stiffness, durability, and forgiveness while offering more bite for easier turns. The Black Colourway with Ice Blue Rails adds an aesthetic enhancement. Stringer System Each Hybrid Board contains a stringer system that acts as a backbone to the EPS Core. For smaller models (6'0 and below), we use a lightweight fiberglass stringer, while larger sizes (6'2+) feature a solid bamboo stringer for increased strength. This stringer system increases board stiffness and durability. Internal Membrane The internal membrane consists of 3 layers of 6oz fiberglass set with epoxy resin on the deck side, and 1 layer of 6oz fiberglass set with epoxy resin on the slick side. External Membrane On the deck side, the board is encapsulated by a 5mm IXPE deck skin, providing extra strength, durability, and traction. The slick side is encapsulated by a super high-density PE slick bottom, offering protection, speed, and durability. 24kg Density Moulded EPS Core The core provides unhindered strength and enhanced durability while retaining lightweight characteristics. It offers the most buoyancy and flotation of all surfboard cores.
