The Solarcon GPK-1 is the official ground plane kit for the Solarcon Antron A-99 CB and 10m base antenna. Adding a ground plane kit to the A-99 significantly improves its performan ce — the A-99 is a ground-independent antenna that works without radials, but adding the GPK-1 lowers the angle of radiation, improving both local coverage and DX range by directing more of the radiated signal towards the horizon rather than skyward. The kit comprises four 70-inch (178cm) fibreglass radials and a mounting bracket that attaches to the base of the A-99 mast.
