Our cardboard square stool is a simple seating piece designed for spaces that need something lightweight, practical, and visually consistent. It has a compact footprint but enough height to work as a casual perch for activations, exhibitions, workshop spaces, pop ups, and branded environments. Made from cardboard, it can be customised to suit the look and feel of the project, allowing it to sit naturally within the overall design. Standard size 22cm long x 22cm wide x 52.5cm high How It Works The square stool is built as a sturdy cardboard structure designed to hold seated weight while staying lightweight enough to move around during bump in and pack down. Its shape makes it easy to place alongside tables, counters, display units, or within workshop and activation spaces where you need compact seating. The size also makes it useful in tighter footprints where bulkier furniture would take up too much room. Because the form is clean and simple, it can either blend into a broader cardboard installation or become part of the visual styling through colour, print, or branding. Customisation and Branding This stool can be customised in a few different ways depending on how visible it needs to be within the space. Colour and finish The surface can be kept natural for a more raw cardboard look, or printed to better suit the branding and styling of the event. This works well for projects that want the materiality of cardboard to remain visible, as well as projects that need a cleaner branded look. Printed branding Logos, campaign messaging, patterns, or simple printed graphics can be applied depending on the design direction. For some projects, subtle branding is enough. For others, the stool can become part of the storytelling across the whole environment. Part of a larger set These stools are often most effective when produced as part of a broader furniture collection. They can be designed to pair with cardboard tables, counters, plinths, shelving, or workshop setups so the entire space feels cohesive. Sustainability Like many of our cardboard builds, the square stool is designed with low-impact production and practical reuse in mind. Cardboard is lightweight, efficient to transport, and widely recyclable when the piece has reached the end of its usable life. For shorter-term events, that can help reduce the waste and material intensity often associated with temporary furniture and event infrastructure. Where appropriate, these stools can also be reused across multiple events, especially for indoor applications where they are stored and handled with care. If a client needs a larger quantity, the lightweight nature of the design can also help reduce freight and handling impacts compared with heavier alternatives. For businesses trying to reduce event waste and make more thoughtful material choices, cardboard furniture can be a smart option that still leaves room for creativity, function, and brand presence. Ideal Applications The square stool works well across a range of temporary and semi-permanent environments, especially where lightweight branded furniture is useful. Workshops and community activations Great for kids’ activities, public programs, creative workshops, and hands-on events where movable seating is needed. Exhibitions and installations Useful as part of immersive environments, education zones, and interactive exhibition spaces. Trade shows and brand activations Can be used in conversation areas, casual meeting spots, or paired with other cardboard furniture for a more complete stand design. Retail and pop ups A good option for temporary fit-outs, change rooms, demonstration areas, or customer interaction spaces. Theatre and set builds Its simple geometry makes it adaptable for stylised set dressing, prop use, or practical backstage and front-of-house functions depending on the build.
