Our C. maxima mix this year includes seed grown in Arizona, California, Oregon, Maryland, and Minnesota. Plants were grown in cool, short-season conditions as well as at high eleva tion, high daytime temps and cold nights. Plants/fruits were selected for vigorous growth under harsh conditions, excellent taste and long storage. Landraces (Lofthouse maxima, Nanticoke and one with the genetics of the true Navajo Hubbard), a grex and the following varieties are represented in this mix: kabocha types, Red Kuri, Buttercup, Candy Roaster, Sweet Meat, NZ Crown, Strawberry Crown.
