Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) How difficult is the installation process for this DIY kit?If you are comfortable operating a standard power drill and a jigsaw, this project is very straightforward. The included template takes out all the guesswork by showing you exactly where to drill your pilot holes and guide your cuts. We recommend applying silicone sealant around the housing base during final assembly to ensure a perfectly watertight seal. What is the difference between this DIY kit and the Roof Swap kit?The Roof Swap Kit provides an entirely new, pre-assembled poly lumber roof that simply screws onto your house. This DIY Add-On Kit requires you to use your own tools to cut a hole into your existing roof. It is a fantastic, cost-effective option for handy backyard wildlife enthusiasts. How does the solar panel handle low-sun winter months?During short, low-sun winter days, solar charging efficiency may naturally drop. We highly recommend mounting the solar panel using the included bracket in an easy-to-reach spot so you can effortlessly access the battery for an occasional manual indoor charge if necessary. ⚠️ Important Setup Notes: This kit requires permanent modifications to your nesting box. Always connect the camera to the Bird Lover app and ensure the power switch under the lid is flipped to ON before finalizing your roof modification. Ensure your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi signal is strong at the tree installation site prior to cutting.
