Shanxi, circa 1880 Originally produced as a writing desk in Shanxi province, this simply styled table would still be ideal for a contemporary home office with limited space or as a dressing table or console. Made from elm wood with a dark finish, the lacquer has worn over years of use, particularly on the top surface, to develop a beautiful patina in the more natural colour of the wood.
