Collected as a fine branching stem bearing multiple small blooms. Structure delicate, with thin offshoots extending irregularly from a central line. Individual heads small and open at time of collection. Drying produces rapid contraction across the blooms. Petals collapse inward, losing definition. The original floral structure becomes indistinct. Copper adheres first along the main stem, then progresses into the smaller branches. Deposition gathers at the former bloom sites, forming small rounded masses. Individual heads no longer retain clear floral shape. Variation between specimens present in density of branching and degree of collapse. Underlying structure remains consistent. Margin note: They smell different now. Not unpleasant. Show more
