Today, the Bronx-born street art legend, born Richard “Richie” Mirando, is considered the “Godfather of Graffiti.” In the 1980s, SEEN made his first moves from the street to the gallery; he showed alongside Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, and Jean-Michel Basquiat in the seminal “New York/New Wave” exhibition at MoMA PS1 in 1981. In the ensuing decades, SEEN has exhibited paintings in Paris, London, Berlin, New York, and other cities, and his work has sold for six figures on the secondary market.
