They became VA-115 in July 1948, and for many years were nicknamed the "Arabs" until changed for obvious reasons. They also gave up their Intruders based out of NAS Whidbey Island in the early '90s and transitioned to the F/A-18C Hornet flying out of NAS Lemoore, CA. This is the plane captain patch that the maintainers wear on their uniform sleeve. Show more
