They became VA-115 in July 1948, and for many years were nicknamed the Arab s until changed for obvious reasons. They also gave up their Intruders based out of NAS Whidbey Island in the early '90s and transitioned to the F/A-18C Hornet flying out of NAS Lemoore, CA.
