The 2005 Masos d'en Cubells is composed of 30% Garnacha, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Carinena, with the balance Merlot and Syrah aged for 12 months in French and American oak. Opaq ue purple in color, with an alluring nose of balsam wood, mineral, Asian spices, incense, lavender, black cherry, and plum, on the palate it is dense, full-bodied, and layered. It displays enough structure to evolve for 3-4 years, excellent balance, and a lengthy, fruit-filled finish. It will offer prime drinking from 2013 to 2025. Score - 92+.
