Eames LCM Chair by Charles & Ray Eames for Vitra. Part of the Eames Plywood Group, the LCM (Lounge Chair Metal) is a lounge chair made of a moulded plywood seat/backrest and slim metal base. First displayed in 1946 at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the LCM chair utilized new processes for moulded plywood techniques in the 1940s. Charles and Ray Eames were also the first to employ shock mounts to furniture design, providing strength, resiliency, and flexibility to the chair.
