Hands-on learning for curious beginners New to the potter’s wheel? This one-to-one beginner course offers a gentle and thorough introduction to wheel throwing. Across three personal sessions, you'll learn foundational techniques and create functional ceramics to bring home. What to Expect Over 3 sessions of 2.5 hours each (7.5 hours total), you’ll receive individual guidance from an experienced instructor in a calm, creative setting. Session 1: Learn about the properties of clay, how to center, and how to throw basic cylinder forms.Session 2: Experiment with shaping different forms and work on your own pieces with plenty of support.Session 3: Focus on trimming, refining, and adding the final details to your creations. You'll be working with stoneware, and you’re welcome to keep up to 5 finished pieces, which will be glazed by your instructor using a glaze of your choice from the Lodewa glaze library. The course takes place in our cozy, well-equipped studio on vibrant Blågårdsgade in the heart of Nørrebro.
