Beginner Wheel Throwing Clay Course Our Beginner Wheel Throwing Clay Course is a hands-on introduction to the pottery wheel, perfect for those who have always wanted to try throwing clay or are looking to build strong foundational skills. Over the course of the class sessions, students will learn essential wheel throwing techniques including centering clay, pulling walls, and shaping forms. These skills will allow you to create functional pottery pieces directly on the wheel. Students will practice forming cylinders and gradually progress into creating bowls, cups, and small vessels while learning how to refine and shape their pieces. Trimming techniques will also be introduced to help finish and elevate each piece. During the final portion of the course, students will prepare their work for firing and glaze their pieces using our studio color palette. Classes are intentionally kept small (maximum of 6 students) to provide a relaxed environment and allow for personalized instruction.
