These cliffs and the subject of the drawing are part of the White Cliffs of Dover. Making art from the subject. Real chalk locally sourced. I rode over to Kingsdown on my bike from Deal in Kent where I live and searched for pieces of chalk from rock falls of the cliff. I'd been wanting to draw the cliffs in the chalk they were made from for a week or so, since I'd done my first drawing out there in Charcoal. Because of Lockdown I had to wait until the local shop was open again that sold large black thick paper. I love sourcing natural materials and then using them to make art. I'd done this before when I lived in Kiln Lane in Suffolk. I would dig up the clay in my garden and make sculptures from the beautiful clay.
