Euro Style Shade-Ready Socket with Extended Threading Our Shade Ready Socket with Extended Threads in ivory is the ideal solution for adding shades to your light fixture designs, especially if you need the extra security of an additional shade ring (sold separately). This socket features extended threads for shades and other attachments that require additional threading area. You can purchase a second shade ring separately to "sandwich" a shade between. When selecting a shade to go with your fixture, be sure to consider the diameter of the socket, as well as the shade style. This socket is designed to pair with Euro shade fitters. All Color Cord Shade-Ready shades will be compatible with the socket, but when pairing with a vintage or outside shade brands, you will need to measure and confirm as there are many sizes and styles of shades available. These sockets are self-locking! Do not assemble the sockets with the terminal inside before it is wired. The terminal will lock the socket permanently. As with all of our sockets, if you plan using this socket with our DIY light cord, we recommend using a cord grip/strain relief for a secure attachment, which is sold separately.
