Sashiko is a traditional Japanese decorative stitching, often used on fabric for reinforcement and aesthetic purposes. It is also known for its meditative quality. Experience Sashi ko with Asaka, who has lived in Japan for over 20 years. You will learn how to draw a traditional Hitomezashi pattern without using templates or pre-printed material. Then, we will practice the specific stitches, working towards completing an ornament using vintage silk Kimono and linen. Materials and warm tea are included.
