Bit lifters are proving very popular for resolving some bitting issues. They support the bit from the noseband, reducing the weight of the metalwork on the tongue, but also helping to prevent the tongue from getting over the bit. The advantage of this method compared to a flash noseband, is that it can be achieved without having to strap the jaws together tightly. A tight noseband can cause resistance in some animals.
