Package Compression inner bag Packing Tube Repair cloth Key chain Mini-windsock Band ZOOM X2C LT: LIGHT SPORTCLASS XC 2-LINER LIGHTLESS PERFORMANCE For the development of the X2C LT, Alex Hollwarth benefits from his long time experience in designing light gliders with top edge performance. With the successful combination of carefully-selected materials for the lines and sail, together with the known and already appreciated ZOOM handling, the X2C LT is unique in the EN C sports class. Flying the X2C LT, pilots will appreciate the lightless combined with crisp handling and high performance. LIGHT AND ROBUST With its sophisticated mix of line and sail fabrics, the low weight and pack volume of the X2C LT make it easy to carry even to less accessible launch sites. On the other hand Alex decided to keep the X2C LT robust by not pushing it to the lowest weight limits. Some sail areas and lines are more robust to cope with harsh and demanding hike and fly activities. This makes the X2C LT a perfect choice for pilots looking for a high performance XC and hike and fly wing. Target pilot group The ZOOM X2C LT is a perfect wing for experienced XC and Hike and Fly enthusiasts who are looking for a robust but still light and easy to carry glider. With its outstanding performance, together with its sophisticated material mix, the X2C LT is a perfect choice for distance XC flights and demanding Hike & Fly events. PERFORMANCE & SAFETY ASPECTS Flight characteristics PRECISION AND LIGHTNESS Due to the low weight of the X2C LT, the light wind launch characteristics are significantly improved. The wing needs very little input to fill and rise. This makes this high performance wing perfect for demanding launching sites in high alpine terrain. The unique ZOOM thermal handling, already highly valued by X2C pilots, could be refined even further on the X2C LT. In thermals this light wing can be flown with pleasantly low but very precise brake handling, the pressure of which increases progressively throughout its range. The pilot gets perfect feedback from the glider at any time, meaning they can concentrate on tactical flying. During accelerated flight the X2C LT shows its high stability, even in tough conditions, together with outstanding performance. This makes the X2C LT a real competitor for XC and Hike & Fly events. Safety LIGHT AND SAFE Despite its high performance, the X2C LT does not push the safety envelope of the EN-C 2 liner class. Even after a significant collapse the X2C LT is easily controllable with the well-defined brake pressure remaining throughout the brake range. The slow flight and stall characteristics of the X2C LT are especially well-designed, making top landings in high alpine areas very easy-going and stress free. Features Shark nose - optimized airflow at the leading edge Rigi foil - wrinkle free wing at leading edge Dual 3D shaping - Reduced ballooning and wrinkle free wing at leading edge Leading edge mini ribs - made of internal stitch technique – enhances the wrinkle free finish of the leading edge. Results in top glide performance especially during accelerated flying. Trailing edge mini ribs - made of internal stitch technique – enhances static stability on the trailing edge of the wing. Dirt hole - clearing out debris from the close cells towards the wing tips Airflow simulation software by Hannes Papesh – performance increase due to optimized cell design and wing canopy finish. Flybubble review This is our FIRST LOOK at this new lightweight version of the EN C 2 line X2C, over 1 kg lighter than the standard-weight version! We’ve already flown the 95 and 105 models of the X2C—check out our review of those—and we are seriously impressed! The X2C LT flies in a very similar way to the X2C—superb handling, climbing and thermalling, great on speed bar, and fantastic feel and control with the rear risers. The glider feels very connected to the wing and incredibly efficient. This is a wing that's made for pilots who appreciate fine handling. It certainly makes us smile every time we fly it! :-) Watch the Flybubble first look review We had the opportunity to fly the ZOOM X2C extensively in the UK just before heading to Colombia in February 2024. This gave us a chance to push the glider and get to know it well in various conditions. If you haven't flown in Colombia, the conditions are quite varied. It's like a really good day in the UK almost every day. We experienced everything from very light, scratchy conditions and a couple of cloudy, weak days to sporty climbs of 6-7 m/s, with some parts involving throwing reserves and having big collapses. This made for an excellent test of the wing.
