This is the most fascinating and intriguing fabric, from a NY designer. The base fabric is a lightweight silk voile, and the center is needle-felted with wool in a windowbox graphic. The technique creates a dense and nubby/fuzzy texture with ruffly off white 3" wide selvages on either side that are the plain silk. The yarn-dyed colors of the needle-felting are medium gray and pumpkin (PANTONE 17-4402, 16-1337), and on the reverse more of the white silk base color shows so it's not really meant to be seen. It is very stable, medium weight but not thick, and it has a more firm drape. It doesn't fray or curl so you can leave raw edges if you wish. Make a distinctive jacket, cocoon coat, or a funky skirt, tunic or dress using the ruffly selvages at the hem! You may wish to line with something smooth like silk charmeuse, for a high end finish.
