From classic Plexi sounds to the sound and response of early 1970s British-made Super Lead and Super Bass amplifiers, it faithfully reproduces everything. Those British-made amplifiers enhanced the performance and shaped the sound of rock and roll. When the house lights dim, the only thing visible in the dim darkness is the row of glowing red pilot lights from the backline stack. If you don't have your own British-made amp stack or a road crew to transport it, the Dirty Little Secret (DLS) is the perfect tonal secret weapon. This is an "always-on" pedal, designed to be the "foundation" of your pedalboard, and it transforms any amp into that ferocious British stack. This pedal, the heart of your guitar sound, can be enhanced or embellished by adding boosters, fuzzes, filters, and other overdrives before it. The reason you can leave it on all the time is that you can get a fantastic clean sound simply by turning your guitar's volume knob back! This is the latest evolution of Dirty Little Secret, famous for its old-school British amp player style, and its most dynamic British amp-style overdrive. ●Controls - Treble: Adjusts the high-frequency response. Turning clockwise increases the frequency, and turning counterclockwise decreases it. It can be used to adjust the balance between the high-frequency and mid-low frequency components of the tone. • Middle: Adjusts the mid-range frequencies. Turning it clockwise increases the midrange, and turning it counterclockwise decreases it. This controls the frequency range that gives the guitar its power. • Bass: Adjusts the low-frequency response. Turning it clockwise increases the bass, and turning it counterclockwise decreases it. This adjusts the thickness of the low end and can be set to a wide range of positions. It is recommended to adjust it by trusting your own ears. • Master: Adjusts the overall volume of the pedal. Turning it clockwise increases the volume, and turning it counterclockwise decreases it. It's easiest to use if you adjust it so that the volume is only slightly higher than when the effect is OFF. • Pre-Amp: Adjusts the amount of distortion. Turning it clockwise increases the distortion, and turning it counterclockwise decreases it. It also affects the volume and tone. When setting it to a low level, it is best to increase the Master level, and when setting it to a high level, it is best to decrease the Bass level for better balance. ●Internal Controls - SL/SB Switch: Switches between SL (Super Lead) and SB (Super Bass) tones. • Presence: This trim pot fine-tunes the top end of the tone. It is set to the most user-friendly setting for most guitars at the time of shipment, but you can turn the trim pot if you wish to adjust it according to your environment. When adjusting the trim pot, please use a precision screwdriver and be careful not to apply too much force. ● Inspiration Dirty Little Secret was developed as a secret weapon for sound creation. Wouldn't it be great to easily recreate the sound of a distorted tube amp at home? Wouldn't it be great to be able to create your own tone anytime, even when using the amps at a venue? Wouldn't it be possible to produce the sound of a distorted amp even with an amp that only produces a clean tone? This pedal is designed to solve these problems. The sound is a classic British stack. It has a natural, amp-like response, so it can be left on and used like a preamp. It's also designed to be used simultaneously with other pedals such as boosters, fuzzes, and filters. You can also set it to be left on with a slight distortion, and then lower the guitar's volume to create a clean tone. ● SL/SB mode The SL (Super Lead) mode is designed to produce great rock tones. It boasts beautiful harmonics, touch sensitivity, and allows for higher gain settings than the SB mode. The gain range covers everything from classic Plexi amps to modified 80s models. The tone, with its emphasized upper mids, is pure rock. The SB (Super Bass) mode is a mode with a Super Bass gain structure similar to that of a JTM amp. It excels at producing a subtle tone that is neither clean nor distorted, and has the response of an old tube amp. It pairs particularly well with two-transistor fuzz pedals, and when combined with a Stratocaster, it can bring you close to a divine tone. This mode emphasizes the low-mid frequencies and is well-suited for Fender-style guitars.Adapter: Center negative DC9-18V Battery powered: 9V Battery current consumption: 5mA@9V, 7mA@18V Input impedance: 10M Output impedance: 90k Controls: Master, Pre-Amp, Treble, Middle, Bass, SL/SB, Presence
