John English left his great name in the history of the Fender Custom Shop. We have received an Eric Clapton Stratocaster, a guitar he worked on during his lifetime, sadly before his passing. John English, a great master craftsman who has long held the title of King of Master Builders, left behind works that embody the quintessential Fender Guitar style, and his dedication continues to impress everyone who touches them. Even among the many top-class master builders, there are still many who yearn for a John English instrument. The guitar we've just received is an Eric Clapton ST, manufactured in 2004 according to Fender's Serial Number Look Up. While Todd Krause's models are the most famous Eric Clapton signature guitars, John English's models were occasionally seen back then. Many fans will also remember that the Clapton Stratocaster Gold Leaf, famously made by Mark Kendrick, was also produced in limited quantities by John. Regarding the individual condition, there are some minor dents and scratches, some tarnishing of the parts, a crack in the pickguard, and some paint lifting next to the jack plate, but otherwise, considering its age, it is in good condition. As there is no documentation to confirm the specifications, we cannot determine the detailed specifications or whether there are any modifications, but at the time of purchase, there was corrosion on the battery snap, so only the battery snap was replaced. (The original battery snap is not included.) The frets have some slight wear at the tops but still have plenty of height remaining, and with a typical setup there is no buzzing or dead spots. The truss rod feels a little stiff, but the rod itself functions properly, so this is a guitar that can still be used actively. Experience the sound of this exquisite masterpiece crafted by a legendary builder. Includes a Fender tweed hard case. Please note that there are no accessories other than the case.
