Our wooden blanket trunks are great for storing everything from bedding and clothes to toys and games. This black lacquer version is extremely popular and is enhanced by the circular brass lock plate giving that classic oriental style, the red tassel and pin come with all of our trunks. Wooden trunks and chests were extremely common in Chinese homes and used for all kinds of storage. They were often either stacked in bedrooms or placed on top of cabinets to store winter clothes or bedding. Camphor was a popular wood as it acts as a natural insect repellent but elm was also favoured. Our black lacquer version is made from solid reclaimed poplar wood, produced using proper dovetail joints and with a metal stay to prevent the lid from falling shut. The inside is finished in a dark wood stain.
