John Capps has been buying knife parts from us even before Redbeard was ever around. Recently, he has entered some of his knife/sheath making videos to our contests and winning best video! Those can be seen here. We since talked him into offering some of these beautiful pieces of work to the world and we are happy that we are the ones to be able to show them off! This Second one that we are starting with is also very beautiful and clean. Starting with the well known Laurin Metalli 80mm Carving blade made from Stainless Steel in Finland. John used another beautiful piece of White Oak with a Maple Spacer and Brass Spacer/Bolster. Although I truly believe it only adds character, John is so detailed oriented, he insisted we point out the void in the wood at the back/bottom side of the maple Spacer. In the 4th picture, you can see a tiny black part that was properly filled by John. This would never be noticed by the average user. The Sheath is another work of art. Back sewn from veg tanned leather and plastic insert/liner. This sheath fits the knife perfectly as a puukko sheath should with a dangler attached to fit any standard belt. Clean work and beautiful knife.
