The P6CS is the ceramic-steel six-string member of EMG's active Precision Bass platform. It uses the same housing and same six-string format as the standard P6, but pairs ceramic magnets with steel pole pieces in place of the standard ceramic configuration, hotter and brighter under the player's hand and putting more focused high-mid energy into the signal before it reaches the active preamp. Tonally the P6CS sits between the standard P6 and the open X-Series variants. The ceramic-steel construction gives a tighter, more aggressive Precision voice than the ceramic-magnet P6, with a faster attack and a more pronounced upper-mid push that helps the bass cut through busier and louder mixes, particularly across the high C string where the standard P can sound less defined. The low B retains the consistency and focus the active circuit delivers across the family. Best suited to modern rock, metal, prog and any context where a six-string Precision needs to assert itself rather than blend. The P6CS mounts in a standard 6-string P-style split-coil neck route and connects to EMG's solderless quick-connect system, so installation is plug-in into an EMG-loaded instrument or into a passive bass fitted with EMG solderless components.
