Jordan EJ13 (2003): The Unexpected Victory The Jordan EJ13 will be remembered for one extraordinary moment. Designed by Gary Anderson and Nicolo Petrucci and powered by the Ford Cosworth RS1 V10, Jordan having returned to Ford power after losing the Honda works deal, it was driven by Giancarlo Fisichella and Ralph Firman. The season was generally difficult, but at the rain-ravaged 2003 Brazilian Grand Prix, Fisichella was declared the winner after one of the most confused conclusions in Formula One history, delivering Jordan only their second ever Grand Prix victory. The achievement was properly celebrated at the following race in San Marino. The most sought-after timepieces are often those that surprise, limited editions from unexpected sources that transcend their context. The EJ13 was that piece. This watch honours the improbable triumph, the reminder that in mechanical sport as in watchmaking, brilliance need not announce itself in advance. The Watch The watch itself is the Hunter evolved. At its heart beats the CIGA Design in-house CD-011 manual tourbillon, its skeletonised bridge and base plate expanding the visible mechanism by 200 per cent. Green-tipped luminous hands honour Eddie's Irish roots, blue screws and ruby jewels echo his ardour and reason, and the yellow strap carries the colours of Jordan Grand Prix. Eddie's signature is engraved on the three-layered octagonal case, forged from DLC-coated Grade 5 titanium, and his FTB wrist tattoo is embossed on the strap loop. The Signed Print This piece is paired with a print of the Jordan EJ13, personally signed by Andy Stevenson. Andy joined Eddie's team in 1988, before Jordan ever reached Formula One, and worked on every car the team built, from the 191 to the EJ15. He went on to become one of the most respected figures in the paddock and has never missed a race since. His signature connects this watch directly to the hands that built the car it honours.
