NM-22B – Norman Spearman On 14 October 1066, the Norman and Anglo-Saxon armies met near Hastings in one of the most consequential battles in English history. William’s forces repeatedly attacked the strongly positioned Saxon army, whose famous shield wall presented a formidable obstacle. NM-22B – Norman Spearman depicts one of the Norman infantrymen taking part in this historic campaign. Equipped with the spear, one of the most common and effective weapons of the period, he represents the large body of foot soldiers who fought alongside William’s better-known mounted knights. His individual pose makes him an excellent addition to a massed infantry formation, particularly when displayed alongside the other Norman spearmen and swordsmen from the series. Available from The Military Workshop – perfect for expanding a John Jenkins Norman army and recreating the drama of the Battle of Hastings.
