NM-24A – Norman Spearman The spear was one of the most important weapons on the medieval battlefield. Relatively simple to produce but highly effective in trained hands, it gave an infantryman valuable reach against an approaching opponent. NM-24A – Norman Spearman depicts one of William the Conqueror’s foot soldiers armed and prepared for battle. Warriors such as this formed an important part of the Norman infantry that advanced against the Anglo-Saxon positions during the Battle of Hastings. The figure can be displayed individually but becomes particularly effective when grouped with the many other Norman spearmen in the John Jenkins series, creating the impression of an advancing formation rather than a collection of identical soldiers. Available from The Military Workshop – ideal for expanding a John Jenkins Norman army and creating an impressive 1066 battlefield display.
