Exceptionally old Chenin Blanc, planted between 1933 and 1952. The organic vines were hand-harvested, pressed whole cluster, wild fermented and matured for 15-18 months on its lees in old oak. Bottled filtered. In the words of legendary wine exporter Becky Wasserman, Romain Guiberteau crafts beautiful, brilliant wines from some of the best land in Brézé, which have an almost "punk rock violence, yet of Bach-like logic and profoundness." Romain has controlled and operated his family's holdings in Brézé since he took over as a flailing law student. Under his watch, and in only a few years, Domaine Guiberteau has become one of the most sought after domaines in Saumur, with his wines already stringently allocated and found in the best restaurants in France. 12.5% ABV
