Skinner Knife This knife is crafted from carbon steel. The style has a strong curve that creates a pronounced "belly", while the point of the blade sits far above centre. With these two properties, the edge of the blade has almost full-length contact with the cutting surface, while the point does not directly touch it. The blade is satin finished showing the bevels of the blade and showcasing the lines of the knife while reducing its reflective glare. The timber handle is Rewarewa. Rewarewa, also known as the New Zealand honeysuckle, is instantly recognisable because of its pale to dark reddish colour and attractive flecked appearance. Because of its figured grain, there is a history of the wood being used in the early decades of European settlement for inlay and decorative work. The timber is strong and tough. This knife does not come with a sheath. However, a custom leather sheath may be purchased separately from our online store.
