This Iai practice sword is manufactured in Gifu Prefecture which has historically been known as the workplace of the Japanese swords. The blade is handmade with the traditional technique of sand casting.This is a replica sword. It is not real and cannot cut. Also, as it is made of alloy, it cannot be sharpened by yourself. Regarding Honda Tadakatsu by Nakatsuka Masamune This sword traces its lineage back to “Masamune.” The name originates from the master swordsmith Gorō Nyūdō Masamune of the 12th century, who established the mainstream tradition of Japanese sword-making. His blades spread throughout many regions of Japan, which is why there are several regional styles of Masamune, such as Aizu Masamune, Fudō Masamune, Hyūga Masamune, and Nakatsuka Masamune. The Nakatsuka Masamune was once owned by Honda Tadakatsu, a renowned warrior famed for his skill with the spear on the battlefield.
