The Sync Energy EVAB1D is a dynamic load-balancing hub for integration into an existing electrical panel, designed to manage the available electrical capacity across multiple compatible Sync Energy EV chargers. By monitoring the installation load, the balancer dynamically adjusts the charging current to help prevent the building supply or monitored EV circuit from being overloaded. The EVAB1D can manage up to 16 compatible EV chargers, connected through an RS485 communication network. The communication cable can extend up to 150m between the balancer and the final connected charger, allowing chargers to be connected in a loop or wired individually back to the hub. Configuration is carried out through the Sync Energy Installer App using Bluetooth, where the installer can select single-phase or three-phase operation and define the maximum circuit capacity. Designed for incorporation into an existing distribution board, the EVAB1D is supplied as a balancer hub only; the enclosure, CT clamps, MCB and wiring terminals are not included. It supports compatible external CT clamps or an approved external RS485 MODBUS energy meter. In the event of a communication fault, connected chargers revert to a safe maximum charging current of 6A per charger. The hub operates from a 220-240V AC supply, features IP20 protection and is covered by a 3-year warranty.
