The EMG Conversion Kit (3 PU) is the standard-shaft, standard-pot wiring harness for installing three EMG active pickups in a Stratocaster-format guitar without soldering. The kit ships with the 25K low-impedance pots that EMG's active circuit needs to see (three of them, for the volume and two tones that a standard Strat control layout carries), a 5-way blade switch appropriate to the Strat cavity, a pre-terminated output jack, a battery clip and the solderless quick-connect cables that plug the three pickups into the harness. Everything a Strat-format guitar needs to move from passive to EMG active in an afternoon, no soldering iron on the bench. Within the wider EMG Conversion Kit family it sits at the top of the three-pickup shelf, alongside the long-shaft version for guitars with deeper Strat-format cavities, the push-pull pot version for TW-series coil-split or SPC and EXG boost activation, and the 3 PU push-pull long-shaft variant. The choice between the 3 PU standard kit and its long-shaft sibling is a matter of body thickness rather than musical style. This kit suits any three-pickup Strat-format layout from EMG's SA/SA/SA and SLV/SLV/SLV single-coil sets through the S/S/81 and SA/SA/81 SSH configurations to the SAX/SAX/89X X-Series sets, provided the pot shafts match the body depth. Fits any Stratocaster-format guitar routed for three single-coil or single-and-humbucker EMG active pickups on a standard-thickness slab body. Runs on a single 9V battery shared between all EMG actives on the harness. Distributed and supported in the UK by Selectron.
