The EMG Conversion Kit (PJ Set) is the wiring harness for installing an EMG active PJ Bass pickup set (a Precision split-coil at the neck plus a Jazz single-coil at the bridge) without soldering. The kit ships with the 25K low-impedance pots that EMG's active bass circuit needs to see, wired to the standard PJ control layout of volume, blend or volume, tone, along with a pre-terminated output jack, a battery clip and the solderless quick-connect cables that plug the P split-coil and the J single-coil into the harness. Everything a PJ-format bass needs to move from passive to EMG active in an afternoon, no soldering iron on the bench. Within the wider EMG Conversion Kit family it sits alongside the J Set kit for two-matched-J-pickup Jazz Bass configurations and the guitar-format 1/2 PU active kits. The choice between the PJ Set kit and the J Set kit is set by the pickups in the bass: a Precision split-coil plus a Jazz bridge single-coil uses the PJ Set kit; two matched Jazz single-coils use the J Set kit. This kit suits the full PJ range including the Frank Bello standard PJ set, the Geezer Butler passive HZ variants and the wider active P plus J bridge configurations. The 25K pot value on the active kits is not interchangeable with 250K passive values, so the harness must match the pickups. Fits any PJ-format bass routed for a Precision split-coil at the neck and a Jazz single-coil at the bridge, both from EMG's active range. Runs on a single 9V battery shared between both EMG actives on the harness. Distributed and supported in the UK by Selectron.
