The EMG Conversion Kit (3 PU Push/Pull Pot) is the standard-shaft push-pull version of the three-pickup active wiring harness, built for Strat-format guitars where the player wants a switching function on one of the guitar's existing pot positions rather than a separate mini-toggle drilled through the pickguard. It ships with 25K push-pull pots on standard-length bushings sized for slab-bodied Strats, a 5-way blade switch appropriate to the Strat cavity, a pre-terminated output jack, a battery clip and the solderless quick-connect cables that plug the three pickups into the harness. The push-pull pots earn their keep in three main ways within the EMG active range. First, coil-splitting a TW-series or 89-series dual-mode humbucker at the bridge (as fitted in the SAX/SAX/89X and S/S/89 sets) between full humbucker and active single-coil mode. Second, activating an SPC (Strat Presence Control) mid-boost circuit for the classic Steve Lukather / David Gilmour presence lift. Third, activating an EXG (Expander) bass and treble boost for players who want an amp-EQ-style lift built into the guitar's own controls. Within the wider EMG Conversion Kit family it sits as the standard-shaft sister to the long-shaft 3 PU push-pull kit, alongside the standard non-switching 3 PU kit for players who do not need the switching function. Fits any Stratocaster-format slab-bodied guitar routed for three single-coil or single-and-humbucker EMG active pickups. Runs on a single 9V battery shared between all EMG actives on the harness.
